Experimental Write-Ups Criteria, Rules and Regulations


Light Year Allocation

120 Light Years: this amount will be allocated for experiments with several images, diagrams or a video, experiments with a detailed write-up with all the important sections included and experiments that are very easy to follow and replicate due to a clear experimental write-up. This amount will also be allocated for experiments that may not be as clearly written up or detailed, but which are highly imaginative or display original thinking and concepts.

80 Light Years: this amount will be allocated for experiments with at least one image or diagram included, experiments with most or all of the important sections included and experiments that are somewhat easy to follow and replicate due to a clear experimental write-up.

40 Light Years: this amount will be allocated for experiments with little to no images or diagrams, short experiments without much detail and experiments that might be difficult to replicate due to an unclear experimental write-up.

Submission Process

Submit your experimental write-up to service@novalasers.com. We will review it as soon as possible. Once we have reviewed your submission and allocated a Light Year amount we will contact you to request your permission to post your experimental write-up on our website. If changes are required prior to posting your submission we will request your permission. Upon your agreement to post the submission the Light Years will be credited to your account.

Rules and Regulations

  1. Anyone may submit an experimental write-up. You do not have to be a NOVAlasers customer.
  2. NOVAlasers will not edit the content of your submission in any way without prior consent from you. NOVAlasers may make formatting changes necessary to post your submission on our website.
  3. You will be credited as the author of your submission.
  4. Once the Light Years earned for your submission are redeemed the submission becomes the property of NOVAlasers Inc. and you may no longer request that we remove it from our website.
  5. The lasers used in the experiment do not have to be purchased from NOVAlasers however advertising (including the use of brand names) competitor’s products will not be accepted. Describe the lasers required in your experiment only according to general criteria such as wavelength and output power. If branding or advertising is used in the experimental write-up NOVAlasers may request that this be removed prior to posting your experiment. If you do not agree you may withdraw your submission.
  6. Any submission with content stolen or plagiarized from other sources (including other websites) will be immediately rejected. Please do not steal content or images from others.
  7. Language and content deemed offensive will not be accepted.
  8. NOVAlasers reserves the right to reject any submission at any time.
