| NOVAlasers Laser Testing Methods |
| NOVAlasers tests each of our lasers individually, ensuring that you receive a high quality product at the output power stated. We test our lasers prior to stocking and just before we ship. |
| Equipment used: |
| Edmund Optics Laser Check Power Meter: quick quality control testing. |
| Gentec Solo PE Graphing Laser Power and Energy Meter: computerized input data system graphs the output power measure and tabulates statistics. Data is stored via computer. |
| Product specific testing methods:
Professional Series: output power is verified.
X-Series and Alpha Series are tested for 60 seconds continuously and the average output power calculated. This average is used as the output power rating of the laser. Due to the high power of the X-150 and X-175, these are tested for 30 seconds and the average output is used as the rating for these lasers.
NOVA Series and NOVA Series Blue: 5 consecutive 1 minute tests are graphed and the average output power tabulated. The median of the five average output power readings is selected as the output power rating.
| NO IR!:
All of our lasers have internally fixed IR filters ensuring that 99.5% of all IR output is blocked from the aperture. We take all of our output power readings with the IR filters intact ensuring that the measured output power of your laser is not inflated by infra-red.

| Transverse Mode: |
| NOVAlasers cannot guarantee a perfect TEM00 mode for our compact portable lasers. These pack alot of punch in such a small housing, so some mode shifting can occur due to thermal effects. Please refer to the image below to see what is acceptable. Mode hopping more severe than this is covered under warranty and should it occur the laser will be replaced. |

| Out-of-Stock laser models: |
| Due to our stringent testing methods, some models may be periodically out-of-stock. Out-of-stock status is clearly marked on product details pages. Any given production run will yield differing amounts of each laser model, with the lowest powered and highest powered lasers being the least abundant, with most lasers qualifying in the middle power range. Due to this natural distribution our lowest powered and highest powered models may be temporarily out-of-stock. NOVAlasers never ships a model of lower power if the higher powered model becomes out-of-stock. Please be patient with us, while we deliver a laser worth waiting for! |
